I think that is down to the individual and awareness but I am open to ideas. We can have our own checklists and perhaps you can come up with something that works for many people. How do you standardise minimum requirements for truth...? Not sure.
What was surprising was to find that people will deliberately share information they know to be wrong if it gets responses. Did I know that before? I am not sure I did but it seems both surprising and unsurprising at the same time - if that makes any sense at all.
But I think there is a way to sort through this garbage to establish a baseline of veracity.

I agree that the social media reward system is a strong factor in sharing information before verifying it.
